About the Role
Welcome each guest genuinely and seat them as quickly as possible. Maintain reservations on OpenTable and converse with guests to make them feel comfortable during wait times. Use a rotation method to ensure fair seating and report to work on time in proper attire.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and seat them promptly

- Use a rotation method to ensure fair seating
- Report to work on time and in proper attire
- Work as a team with all team members within the hotel
- Check greeter station for cleanliness and ensure the front of the restaurant is clean
- Check all tables to ensure they are set up and ready to be seated with guests
- Communicate to servers when seating tables and assist servers when necessary
- Drive forward kid's dining initiatives by ensuring children are taken care of with proper activities and assisting with scheduling kitchen tours as applicable
- Show knowledge of all areas within the hotel
- Communicate to managers the flow of the restaurant
- Quote accurate wait times
- Watch the flow of the restaurant
- Have knowledge of the menu and wine to assist guests with questions and/or suggestions
- Detail tables and remove items not in use, e.g., seating a party of two at a four-top, the extra place settings should be removed
- Never solicit tips
- Attend monthly department meetings and daily stand-ups
- Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests
- Able to use POS (point of sale) system
- Take ownership of the restaurant
- Aid managers with daily duties such as scheduling of stations
- Ensure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on Marriott's Guest Satisfaction Survey
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technology, e.g., tablets, iPads
- Ability to assist with menu revisions when needed
Physical and Mental Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekend and evening
- Ability to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others
- Ability to manage varying personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community
