About the role

The Hotel Landing is a premier luxury lakeside destination seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Server to join our team. This role requires a strong background in customer service and cash handling, with a focus on providing exceptional service and maintaining a clean, inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving customers, seat them, and establish rapport
• Assign tables and notify servers of new seats
• Process payments and verify accuracy of guest checks
• Elicit feedback from customers and distribute checks
• Maintain a clean and attractive restaurant environment
• Handle maintenance and housekeeping issues promptly

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience of 3 months in a position with heavy cash handling responsibilities and customer service exposure
• Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems
• Basic customer service skills, restaurant operations, and food service principles
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs, stand for the entire shift, and perform other tasks as required

Qualifications

• High school graduate level mathematical aptitude
• General knowledge of basic customer service skills
• Knowledge of computerized cash register systems
• Ability to handle coins and writing utensils, grasp handles, push buttons, and carry dishes
• Ability to lift arms above head to retrieve objects from shelves
• Ability to communicate effectively under stress and in emotionally charged situations
• Ability to read and understand written communiques, computer screens, and print-outs
• Ability to see colors and survey the entire room in dimly lit conditions
