Responsibilities
- Greets customers in a genuine manner, asks if it is a customer's first visit, and conducts restaurant tours.
- Offers customers their choice of table, presents menus, and introduces appetizers and beverages.
- Notifies the manager of all first-time customers.
- Sets up tables for large parties and provides any needed high chairs, boosters, or slings.
- Maintains an accurate waitlist and provides quote times to customers.
- Maintains a clean and welcoming environment including a clean floor, windows, host stand, and menus.
- Notifies manager in the event of any issues or displeased customers.
- Performs opening and closing duties such as cleaning tasks in the host stand and surrounding area.
- Aids in delivering food and beverages to customers.
- Aids in cleaning and sanitizing tables.
- Sweeps dining room periodically.
- Maintains a safe working environment and reports any safety issues to management immediately.
- Polishes silverware and bowls.
- Fulfills all sanitation and safety policies.
- Fulfills all company cash handling policies and procedures.
- Maintains valid state and local food handlers and alcohol certifications as applicable.
- Demonstrates teamwork at every opportunity.
- Advise Restaurant Manager/General Manager/Regional Director of any non-routine situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must have excellent verbal and customer service skills.
- Must be customer-centric, demonstrating a desire to be of service.
- Must be able to multi-task while maintaining required standards of operations.
- Must be able to address customer concerns in a manner that builds customer relations.
- Must be respectful of all customers, managers, team members, and vendors.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lb.
- Must be capable of constant walking, standing, stooping, and reaching in all directions.
- Must have manual dexterity.
- Must be available to work a variety of opens, swings, and closes including weekends and holidays.
Verbal And Reasoning Requirements
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, co-workers, and managers.
- Must be able to engage in a two-way conversation with the customer on the floor.
- Must have the ability to read and/or follow verbal instructions and implement the same.
- Must be capable of applying common sense and understanding to carry out oral and/or written instructions.
- Must understand and adhere to service standards.
