It’s HIM | Hell’s Kitchen, New York City About the RoleIt’s HIM is seeking an exceptional Host who will serve as the hospitality leader and primary guest-facing presence on the floor.For this role, personality is everything.We are looking for someone who genuinely loves people and hospitality. Someone warm, charismatic, confident, engaging, highly personable, and naturally attentive. Someone who remembers faces, builds relationships with regulars, makes first-time guests feel immediately welcome, and can walk into a busy room and instinctively understand where their attention is needed.This is not a position for someone who simply wants to stand at the door, manage reservations, and seat tables.Our Host owns the guest experience and flow of service throughout the room.You should be the person who notices that a table has been seated but hasn't been greeted. You recognize when a bartender or server is becoming overwhelmed. You see a guest looking around for assistance before they ever have to ask for it. And when something needs attention, you take initiative to make sure it gets handled.We want every guest who walks into It’s HIM to feel welcomed, recognized, and taken care of.What You'll DoCreate a warm, engaging first impression for every guestGreet, welcome, and seat guestsManage reservations and the flow of the roomDevelop genuine relationships with regulars and new guestsMaintain constant awareness of the guest experience throughout the venueRecognize when guests need attention and proactively respondMonitor tables to ensure guests are being greeted and served promptlySupport bartenders and servers when service becomes busyTake or communicate drink orders when necessary to keep service movingDirect immediate service needs on the floorCheck in with guests throughout their experienceHelp resolve guest concerns professionally and graciouslyMaintain the atmosphere, presentation, and hospitality standards of It’s HIMHelp ensure service standards and procedures are being followedAssist with the guest-facing execution of private events and special nightsCommunicate recurring service or operational issues to managementBe a highly visible, approachable, energetic presence throughout serviceWho We're Looking ForAbove everything else, we are hiring for personality and hospitality instinct.The right person is:Exceptionally personable and naturally outgoingWarm, friendly, and genuinely interested in peopleCharismatic and confident without being overbearingComfortable starting conversations and building relationshipsHighly observant and able to read a roomProactive and naturally inclined to take care of peopleAble to anticipate guest needs rather than simply react to requestsCalm and composed during busy serviceComfortable giving direction when something on the floor needs immediate attentionA strong communicator with both guests and staffPolished and professional while still being fun and approachableSomeone who takes pride in remembering guests and creating regularsSomeone who understands the difference between providing service and creating an experiencePrevious experience as a Host, lead host, head host, hospitality professional, or in an elevated restaurant, cocktail bar, nightlife, or hotel environment is strongly preferred.Leadership experience is a plusSystems and procedures can be taught.
