About the role

A Gator’s Dockside host is responsible for all facets of the guest experience from the time guests enter the restaurant until they leave. Hosts must read and understand all training materials and use them to perfect the guest’s experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and open the door when possible
• Manage proper rotation of the seating chart while seating guests
• Answer phones accurately and politely
• Receive and correctly input to-go orders into kitchen computer systems
• Ensure accuracy of to-go orders and correct any mistakes in a timely manner
• Interact with guests, hourly employees, and management in a friendly manner
• Train new hosts and assist with training other support staff members
• Handle and distribute cash, credit cards, traveler’s checks, and loose change accurately
• Pay all money owed to the restaurant at the end of each shift and declare tips earned
• Report guest complaints or potential problems to the manager on duty immediately and attempt to resolve them
• Make drinks and desserts, serve food to guests, bus and pre-bus tables as directed
• Roll silverware and clean menus
• Assist with food preparation or dishwashing as directed by management
• Maintain a current food safety certification
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook and training materials
• Help clean and maintain all common areas of the restaurant, including restrooms, floors, walls, equipment, and furniture
• Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness at all times
