About the Role

A Gator’s Dockside host is responsible for all facets of the guest experience from the time they enter the restaurant until they leave. Hosts must read and understand all training materials and utilize those guidelines to perfect the guest’s experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter, open doors when possible, and seat guests using proper rotation of the seating chart.
• Answer phones accurately and politely, and handle to-go orders by inputting them correctly into kitchen systems.
• Ensure accuracy of to-go orders and correct any mistakes in a timely manner.
• Interact with guests, hourly employees, and management in a friendly, non-coercive manner.
• Train new hosts and assist with training other support staff members.
• Handle and distribute cash, credit cards, traveler’s checks, and loose change accurately.
• Pay all money owed to the restaurant at the end of each shift and declare all tips earned.
• Report guest complaints or potential problems to the manager on duty and attempt to resolve them.
• Prepare drinks and desserts, serve food, bus and pre-bus tables, roll silverware, and clean menus.
• Assist with food preparation or dishwashing as directed by management.
• Maintain a current food safety certification.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook and training materials.
• Help clean and maintain common areas, including restrooms, floors, walls, equipment, and furniture.
• Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
