About the role
At Myers + Chang, the Host is the first smile our guests see—and we're all about being the friendliest place in town!
We're a team at M+C, so Hosts may also assist with tasks like delivering food or drinks, refilling waters, restocking supplies, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional hospitality
- Lead the restaurant entrance to ensure a prompt, friendly greeting and farewell to each guest
- Answer and manage incoming calls to assist guests with any orders, inquiries, reservations or concerns
- Maintain real-time updates in our online reservation system, Resy, including managing empty tables, turning them over, and promptly notifying servers of new guests
- Oversee the waitlist during peak times, seating guests based on upcoming reservations, volume, availability, and party needs
- Be knowledgeable about food and beverage offerings—including new and seasonal releases—to make informed, enthusiastic recommendations and to answer questions
- Process orders through the Toast POS with accuracy, including taking and entering phone orders, processing credit card transactions, and handling cash transactions
- Organize and pass off all take-out and delivery orders, including Doordash
- Replenish items as needed during the shift to ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked restaurant
- Maintain a clean, and organized host stand and surrounding guest areas
- Communicate effectively with the FOH and BOH teams to ensure a smooth guest flow and service experience
- Absorb and participate in the welcoming and training of new team members
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness guidelines and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and elevate the guest experience
Qualifications
- Hospitality driven
- Ability to think outside the box, as needed, to ensure a balanced and efficient floor using sound judgment
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
- Excellent attendance, reliability, communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management and delegation skills
- Knowledgeable of ingredients and restaurant systems (including health and safety guidelines) and able to maintain the restaurant's strict allergen protocols
- Able to maintain grooming and uniform standards
- Must have scheduling availability to work in the daytime, evenings and weekends

Pay
The starting rate for this position is $20 per hour, with the total pay range of $20-$22 per hour.
Schedule
We do not offer seasonal or temporary employment and ask for at least a 6 month commitment.
