About the role
Welcome and communicate with all guests and potential guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Help maintain the quality standards of the facilities and the service, and complete any reasonable job-related tasks as directed by a supervisor or Manager.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the restaurant.
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
- Manage private dining.
- Escort customers to assigned dining areas.
- Provide menus and announce Server name.
- Greet customers upon their departure.
- Coordinate with servers about available seating options.
- Maintain clean reception areas.
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly, disabled).
- Seat guests as efficiently as possible to facilitate good customer flow and reduce crowding.
- Complete any reasonable job-related tasks as directed by Host department Manager.
Requirements
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
- Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Courteous, friendly, and pleasant demeanor.
- Able to work in a high-traffic volume restaurant environment.
- Demonstrable customer-service skills.
- Excellent communication skills (via radio and in-person).
- Ability to be punctual and present for scheduled shifts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining area.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
- Able to perform more than one task at a time.
- Follow Management and leadership instructions.
- Report to work in a complete required uniform.
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, carry, and wipe.
- Obtain Texas Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
