Core Responsibilities
- Deliver elevated and attentive service throughout all stages of the guest experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards in all dining areas
- Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality upon arrival
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in guests using the restaurant's reservation platform
- Foster guest loyalty by creating memorable and personalized experiences
- Effectively coordinate seating arrangements to maximize dining room flow and guest satisfaction
- Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently while maintaining composure under pressure
- Communicate wait times professionally and manage guest expectations throughout the dining experience
Service & Guest Experience
- Ensure all guest-facing areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health regulations
- Approach guest interactions with warmth, confidence, and approachability
- Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all food, wine, cocktail, beer, and spirits menus
- Educate guests and staff in a clear, engaging, and non-intimidating manner
- Clear, crumb, reset, and maintain tables
- Create a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable dining experience
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences
- Demonstrate teamwork and support fellow staff during service
- Uphold all service standards, reservation notes, and allergy protocols
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, retail, or guest service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-volume service periods
- Comfortable using reservation and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours), and to crouch, bend, and lift or move 25+ lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($11.35) plus tips

The Host is the first and last impression of the restaurant, responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest. This role manages reservations, guest arrivals, seating flow, and communication between the dining room and guests while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The position reports to the General Manager. The restaurant is located in the West Village and will open in the fall. It operates at a fast pace, with a close-knit team working across the dining room and kitchen. We're looking for people who are detail-oriented, communicative, and excited to be a part of a new project.
