Host

We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Host who is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable first impressions for every guest. This role supports the restaurant team in creating a smooth and welcoming dining experience in a fast-paced setting. Previous barista experience is preferred, as this role may support coffee and beverage service during appropriate service periods.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Welcome every guest with warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.
• Create a positive first and last impression for guests entering and leaving the restaurant.
• Manage guest seating and ensure an efficient and thoughtful flow throughout the dining room.
• Provide accurate information about the restaurant, menus, amenities, and hotel offerings.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to questions and requests professionally.
• Assist with guest concerns and communicate issues to restaurant leadership when appropriate.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage, coffee, and restaurant offerings.

Reservations & Restaurant Operations

• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments accurately.
• Monitor table availability and coordinate guest seating with servers and restaurant leadership.
• Communicate estimated wait times clearly and accurately.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming host stand throughout service.
• Answer phones and assist guests with reservation and restaurant inquiries.
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.
• Monitor dining room presentation and communicate cleanliness or maintenance concerns to leadership.
• Support restaurant operations during high-volume periods by assisting wherever needed.

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, culinary staff, leadership, and hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
• Support fellow team members during busy periods and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Communicate guest preferences, special occasions, and requests effectively with the service team.
• Participate in ongoing training and continuously develop hospitality, food, beverage, and service knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sustainability & Stewardship

• Reduce unnecessary single-use materials whenever possible.
• Support recycling and composting procedures.
• Practice responsible use of restaurant supplies and materials.
• Support sustainable coffee and food initiatives through thoughtful product knowledge and service.
• Contribute to an environmentally conscious workplace while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Requirements

• Previous host, restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous barista experience preferred.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience with reservation or point-of-sale systems preferred.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Reach, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Safely handle menus, glassware, coffee equipment, and other restaurant materials.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
