About the Role

The Applebee’s host/hostess is responsible for delighting guests by greeting them upon arrival and departure, seating them efficiently, and maintaining smooth guest flow in the restaurant. The role supports server effectiveness and maximizes dining room space while fostering a culture aligned with TSFR’s Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests as they enter and depart the restaurant, holding the door open when needed
• Seat guests according to established plans and guest needs
• Maintain cleanliness of the host stand, waiting area, and restrooms (refill paper products as needed)
• Sanitize and wipe down tables, sweep floors, and reset tables after use
• Assist servers by taking initial drink orders or running food to guests
• Perform daily opening and closing tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
• Keep menus clean and stocked
• Conduct restroom checks and restock supplies

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varied shifts
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting up to 30 pounds, transporting high chairs or booster seats, wiping/sweeping, carrying plates)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interpret instructions
• Basic problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization
• Adherence to food safety guidelines

Work Environment

The role operates in a fast-paced restaurant setting, requiring teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to handle change. Occasional travel to other locations may be required. The position involves frequent standing, walking, and interaction with guests and staff.
