Host an International High School Exchange Student (Shelby County, AL)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming home environment for an international student
• Attend orientation sessions with the exchange student
• Support the exchange student in adjusting to a new culture and school
• Ensure the exchange student has access to healthcare and emergency services
• Encourage the exchange student to participate in community activities

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Willingness to provide a safe and supportive living environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Availability to host the exchange student for a full school year or semester

Qualifications

• Experience living or working internationally is a plus
• Passion for cultural exchange and diversity
• Willingness to adapt to new situations and challenges
