Host an International High School Exchange Student (Craighead, AR)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Attend orientation sessions with the exchange student
• Help the exchange student adjust to life in the new country
• Ensure the exchange student attends their host family's local high school
• Support the exchange student in their academic and social development
• Encourage the exchange student to participate in community activities

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Willing to commit to hosting for a minimum of one school year or semester
• Have a stable home environment suitable for hosting an exchange student
• Be able to provide transportation to and from school
• Have a basic understanding of the language spoken by the exchange student (English)
• Have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle if required

Qualifications

• Willingness to embrace cultural diversity and open-mindedness
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Positive attitude and willingness to support the exchange student's growth
• Availability during school hours and some evenings
