Host an International High School Exchange Student (Basehor, KS)
About the role
ERDT/SHARE! is a global non-profit educational foundation that has been providing international student exchange services to host families and international teens since 1974. The SHARE! High School Exchange Program seeks caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year. Students aged 14–18 come from countries including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and many others. They are eager to experience American family life, attend local high school, become a true member of your family, and share their own culture and traditions. Each student speaks English, has comprehensive medical insurance, has spending money for personal expenses, and is carefully screened and selected before arriving in the United States.
Qualifications
There is no "perfect" host family. SHARE! welcomes two-parent families (with or without children), single parents, single adults, retired couples, and empty nesters. If you have a caring heart, a stable home, and a willingness to welcome a student into your family, you may be the perfect host.
Schedule
Hosting opportunities are available for a semester or a full school year.
