Job Description

The Host role involves greeting and assisting guests in a positive, polite, and professional manner. Key responsibilities include:

• Communicating reservations and guest comments to management and servers
• Welcoming guests and coordinating their seating
• Answering phone calls and maintaining the hostess stand
• Maintaining cleanliness and organizing the hostess stand
• Managing reservation and hostess equipment, software, and supplies
• Performing general clerical tasks, including using Open Table

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, an individual must:

• Have a high school diploma
• Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
• Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Have basic math and computer skills
• Be able to solve problems and make decisions
• Understand restaurant operations, services, and facilities
• Have excellent guest service skills and knowledge of California serving guidelines

Physical Demands

The Host position requires:

• Most work tasks performed indoors
• Walking, standing, and exerting well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours
• Bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, lifting up to 30 lbs., and multi-tasking in a calm manner
