About the role
Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Chicago buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a 50+ year history and deep commitment to multiple sectors, including hospitality, workplace, civic, retail, healthcare, higher education.
Responsibilities
- Conducts basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, program, and other similar material.
- Demonstrates the ability to take direction, respond constructively to feedback, and implement guidance from senior team members within established project goals.
- Supports project team in the development of interior design documentation and presentation materials.
- Aids in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
- Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Aids in research of concepts, benchmarks, materials, typology, and precedents.
- Aids in material and furniture selections, space planning and communication with product representatives.
Requirements
- Hospitality design experience preferred.
- Good understanding of Revit (AutoCAD experience preferred) and its use as a design tool.
- Experience with industry-standard design software, including Photoshop and InDesign, is preferred.
- Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- To participate and collaborate in project team setting.
- To engage in creative and critical thought.
- To interpret sketches, drawings, program and other similar material.
- To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written/graphic).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of lighting/fixtures.
- Basic understanding of materials, FFE and specifications.
- Basic understanding of client's expectations of deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; prefer experience with Newforma.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or related field is required.
- Interior Design License preferred, or intent to obtain licensure is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Revit and other design software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
$62,500.00 - $90,600.00 Annually
