Hospitality & Catering Intern, FLIK Hospitality Group / McLean, VA
Overview
The FLIK Hospitality Internship Program is a paid, summer‑long experience (May 2027 – August 2027) that gives hospitality students the opportunity to work in a dynamic and inspirational hospitality culture. Interns work closely with hospitality mentors and gain an inside look at the operations of a leading food‑service and hospitality organization. The program emphasizes authenticity, people‑first values, sustainability, wellness, and leadership.
Location & Schedule
8200 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA 22102
Full‑time schedule; exact hours to be discussed further upon interview. Interns must be available to work 20 – 40 hours per week based on business needs and internship requirements.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.
Free meals, uniforms, and laundering service are available at select locations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a Hospitality Management and/or Culinary Arts degree.
- Must meet the university’s GPA requirement for the internship.
- Successful completion of relevant Intro to Hospitality coursework.
- One year of industry experience is acceptable in lieu of coursework.
- College credit is not required, but documentation can be provided if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through different roles depending on location and operational needs, including setting up and/or closing events or dining halls, cashier functions, coffee/barista duties, and welcoming guests.
- Provide consistently friendly and courteous service to guests.
- Support catering events by setting up, arranging buffet stations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing cleanup.
- Assist with marketing tasks such as signage, seasonal decorations, and food holiday communications.
- Adhere to “platinum service” customer‑service standards and review catering and front‑of‑house standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and client expectations.
- Contribute individually and as a team member to support food‑service/hospitality services and work toward goals assigned by an experienced manager.
