About the role
FLIK Hospitality Group is hiring Culinary and Hospitality Interns for Spring 2027 (January–April) and Summer 2027 (May–August) positions at corporate dining locations in New York City. The internship is a paid, full‑time opportunity (schedule to be discussed further upon interview) that provides hands‑on training in a dynamic kitchen or hospitality environment, mentorship, and exposure to FLIK’s values of culinary authenticity, people first, sustainability, wellness, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through front‑of‑house (FOH) and back‑of‑house (BOH) stations depending on location or operational needs.
- Work stations such as pizza, deli, salad bar, grill, or any BOH prep area.
- Engage with guests and tailor plates to their dietary needs.
- Review culinary and front‑of‑house standards.
- Learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives.
- Adhere to “platinum service” customer service standards.
- Consistently practice safety and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with catering events, including setup and execution.
- Develop professional relationships and enhance interpersonal skills.
- Contribute individually and as a team member to support Culinary Services and work toward goals assigned by an experienced manager.
- For hospitality interns: set up and/or close events or dining halls, perform cashier functions, coffee/barista duties, welcome guests.
- Provide consistently friendly and courteous service to guests.
- Support catering events by setting up buffet stations, arranging signage, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing cleanup.
- Assist with marketing tasks, including signage, seasonal decorations, and food holiday communications.
- Review catering and front‑of‑house standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and client expectations.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and pursuing a Hospitality Management and/or Culinary Arts degree.
- Must be available to work 20–40 hours per week based on business needs and internship requirements.
Qualifications
- Meet university’s GPA requirement for internship.
- Successful completion of sanitation standards training.
- Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework (culinary interns).
- Successful completion of relevant Intro to Hospitality coursework (hospitality interns).
- One year of industry experience may be substituted for enrollment requirement.
- College credit is not required, but appropriate documentation can be provided if needed.
Pay
$20.00 per hour.
