About the Role

The Food & Nutrition Room Service Attendant is a competent, experienced professional responsible for obtaining food preferences and meal orders. This role demonstrates specific competencies as listed on the Competency Checklist and meets mutually agreed-upon performance goals/objectives established annually.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, adhering to infection control practices, department security, and HIPAA guidelines, as well as following HACCP/food safety policies and procedures. The role also focuses on achieving patient, customer, and physician satisfaction goals and participating in training to advance within the Food Service department.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain food preferences and meal orders from patients.
  • Perform specific competencies as outlined on the Competency Checklist.
  • Meet performance goals and objectives established annually.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, department security, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to HACCP and food safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain Food & Nutrition’s uniform and personal appearance standards.
  • Utilize processes to achieve patient, customer, and physician satisfaction goals.
  • Participate in training with other Food Service department staff to advance within the industry.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate preferred (90-day grace period after hire).
