Hospitalist, Yale New Haven Hospital

Responsibilities

• Competently care for the hospitalized patient throughout the hospital stay.
• Emergency evaluation and triage in addition to admission to the hospital and formation of a differential diagnosis.
• Formulate a comprehensive care plan in accordance with the most up-to-date, evidence-based protocols.
• Possess excellent communication skills and exhibit these through communication with primary medical doctors as well as in-house consultant physicians and colleagues.
• Interact in a professional manner with all members of the patient care team.
• Participate in the education of house staff physicians, students, nurses, and all members of the patient care team.
• Transition patients back to the outpatient setting upon discharge with high-quality care and patient safety in mind.
• Deliver service excellence and patient satisfaction.
• Participation on Yale New Haven Hospital committees is encouraged to demonstrate leadership.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MD, DO)
• Completion of Internal Medicine Residency
