Hospitalist Physician (Part-Time)

Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who are dependable and flexible. Many of us are active on hospital committees, which helps solidify our relationships with specialists and our very supportive C-suite. Enhancing the patient experience, our clinical performance nurse plays a pivotal role in assisting you throughout the care process.
Qualifications
- Board-certified internal medicine or family medicine physician
- Academic experience required
- Demonstrated excellence in inpatient teaching and clinical supervision, including bedside instruction and resident guidance, with prior academic or structured teaching experience highly valued
- Proven ability to lead high-quality, efficient hospital care by driving early disposition planning, exercising sound clinical judgment around inpatient vs. outpatient needs, and partnering effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize throughput
- Skilled in coordinating complex care plans and integrating consultant input while maintaining ownership of the overall care plan; experience managing patients with substance use disorders and collaborating with social work and community resources is a strong plus
- Authorized to work in the United States
Schedule
Part-time: 7 day shifts per month to be worked consecutively. The hours are 7 am to 7 pm.
Responsibilities
- The hospital has a closed ICU with Sound Physicians’ intensivists 24/7
- All procedures are performed by the intensivist team and interventional radiology
- Perform rounds, admissions, and discharges as well as multidisciplinary rounds, table rounds, and teach Einstein Montgomery family medicine, internal medicine, and transitional year residents
- When possible, we do geographic rounding
- Part of the rapid response and code team; all team members are certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support
- Residents will manage rapid responses and codes with your supervision until the intensivist arrives
- Monthly team meetings to relay key information from administration, discuss group operations, and provide general feedback
- Use Cerner with Dragon and have access to our own internal informatics platform
