Hospitalist Physician - Day or Nocturnist
Scheduled Weekly Hours
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
- Work Shift: 7 days on (12 hr shifts) followed by 7 days off - Day Hospitalist or Nocturnist
Summary of the Job
The Hospitalist provides care for hospitalized adult, general medical patients as the admitting or consulting physician.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and Board Certification in appropriate specialty
- Background and experience in the care of hospitalized patients
- Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine
- Member in good standing of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Medical Staff
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health
- Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time
- Lifting at least 20 pounds is required
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise

- Constant (67%-100%): handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
- Frequently (34%-66%): reaching
- Occasionally (1%-33%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
