Hospitalist Physician

About the role

Join National Wound Physician Group as a Part-Time Hospitalist Physician in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities. Physicians deliver modern wound management at the bedside in the post-acute care setting, including Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert in wound management, learning from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors.
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities.
• Provide bedside wound care in facilities across the practice area.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each facility.
• Visit 2-3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20-30 patients per day.
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using proprietary wound specific EMR.

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week (weekdays only).
• Full-time role: 4–5 days per week, Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm.
• No call / no weekend clinical responsibilities.
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location.

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state you wish to practice.
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week.

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding, plus a 6-month wound care fellowship.
• Physician-level wound management training and a wound fellowship giving you all the knowledge and expertise for clinical excellence.

Compensation

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits.
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship is available).
