Hospitalist Physician

About the role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a part-time Hospitalist Physician to provide bedside wound management in post-acute care settings in Des Moines, IA. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities. Physicians deliver modern wound management at the bedside in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals, conducting weekly wound rounds at each facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound care in over 3,200 facilities across 28 states
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2-3 facilities per day treating approximately 20-30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using proprietary wound-specific EMR
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Iowa
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week
• Full-time role: 4-5 days per week
• Monday - Friday (7am-4pm)
• No call / No weekend clinical responsibilities
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities in a 40–60 mile radius of practice location

Training

• Paid Training provided during onboarding plus 6-month wound care fellowship
• Physician level wound management training from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Wound fellowship providing all the knowledge and expertise for clinical excellence

Compensation

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
• W2 employment contract (No work visa sponsorship available)
