Responsibilities

The Hospitalist provides care for hospitalized adult, general medical patients as the admitting or consulting physician.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certification in appropriate specialty
• Background and experience in the care of hospitalized patients
• Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine
• Member in good standing of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Medical Staff

• Good physical health
• Able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
• Ability to work with a moderate level of noise
• Physical effort: Constant (67%-100%) – handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
• Physical effort: Frequently (34%-66%) – reaching
• Physical effort: Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
