Hospitalist NP

Essential Functions

• Conducts patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Provides preventative healthcare services, immunizations, and health screenings.
• Prescribes medications and formulates treatment plans under applicable prescriptive authority.
• Refers patients to specialists and community resources as needed.
• Documents all care in the electronic medical record accurately and timely.
• Educates patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
• Promotes informed decision-making and respects patient autonomy and cultural preferences.
• Maintains responsibility for care throughout the course of treatment, including discharge planning.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Required); Master’s degree in Nursing (Required).
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice (Required); Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification (Required); Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Required within 30 days of hire).
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner (required).
