Inova Alexandria Hospital is a 318‑bed Magnet Community Hospital ranked #9 in Northern Virginia, offering General Surgery, Orthopedic, Urology, Plastic Surgery and a Hospitalist Service. As a Hospitalist (Nocturnist) you will work with a full‑time physician team handling 9,322 daily encounters, focus on observation‑status patients, and collaborate in a nursing/case‑management‑excellence environment with double coverage at night and a closed ICU. The hospital provides a collaborative clinical environment and APP schedule of 12‑hour shifts, seven days per week. Alexandria, VA, located on the Potomac River just south of Washington, D.C., offers historic Old Town, boutique‑lined King Street, and an affluent community of young urban professionals.
Responsibilities
- Perform HM rounding with a focus on observation‑status patients
- Manage approximately 9,322 daily encounters with the FT physician team
- Provide care without procedural duties (no procedures)
- Ensure double coverage at night
- Work within a closed ICU setting
- Contribute to nursing/case‑management excellence
- Participate in a collaborative clinical environment
- Follow the APP schedule of 12‑hour shifts, seven days per week
Requirements
- Residency‑trained, board‑certified physician
- Interest in partnership and long‑term commitment
- Willingness to work as a Nocturnist/Hospitalist in a Magnet‑recognized facility
