Hospitalist - Affluent Suburb of St. Louis, MO
BJC Medical Group is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician for a Teaching Hospitalist position at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, the largest community-based hospital within BJC Medical Group. About the Role
This is a teaching position at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. The physician will oversee a team of two interns with a maximum patient census of seven per intern. The role involves 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm in a closed, 30-bed ICU. EMR system used is EPIC.
Responsibilities
- Manages the medical care of a patient panel by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care, including regular hospital rounds or coordinating coverage with hospitalists or other qualified physicians.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations and other BJC clinical outreach sites.
- Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provides or arranges for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in accordance with BJC policies, Medical Staff bylaws, and applicable legal, ethical, and professional standards.
- Collaborates and teaches advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team members assigned to the care of the physician’s patient panel.
- Completes medical records, provides MyChart consultations, manages in-basket tasks, conducts patient-specific education, and collaborates with care team members.
BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Medicine.
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Licensed Physician.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience beyond residency.
- 2-5 years of hospitalist medicine experience.
Pay
- $300,000 yearly base compensation.
- $30,000 sign-on bonus.
- $100,000 student loan repayment.
- Tenure bonus starting in year three.
