Hospitalist - 25 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri
BJC Medical Group is seeking a BE/BC Internal or Family Medicine Physician to join our friendly and experienced Hospitalist team in Belleville, IL, located just 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. Memorial Hospital Belleville is a 212-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital offering emergency and critical care services as well as medical and surgical services, along with a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services.
About the Role
The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing specialty through direct patient care and additional duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations, inbasket management, patient-specific education, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities
- Manages the medical care of a patient panel by providing or arranging for inpatient hospital care, either through regular hospital rounds or by coordinating with hospitalists or other qualified physicians.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations and other BJC clinical outreach sites.
- Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provides or arranges for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in accordance with BJC policies and medical staff bylaws.
- Collaborates with and teaches advanced practice providers, support staff, or other care team members assigned to the physician’s patient panel.
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
Schedule
- 7 on / 7 off schedule (7 AM to 7 PM).
- Full-time requirement of 182 shifts per year with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
- ICU with 24/7 Intensivist coverage at the main campus.
- Substantial advanced practice provider (APP) support and expansion.
- No required procedures, but optional if desired.
Pay
- $315,000 base salary.
- Up to $20,000 quality bonus per year.
- $12,000 tenure bonus starting in year three.
- $30,000 sign-on bonus.
- Quarterly RVU payments for productivity achieved over the 65th percentile.

Requirements
- Doctorate in Medicine.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal or Family Medicine.
- Licensed Physician.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience.
