Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Millersburg, OH. The Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider delivers comprehensive inpatient care, including admitting, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients in collaboration with the hospitalist team and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
• Admit, assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
• Participate in daily patient rounds.
• Coordinate transitions of care and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Support safe, evidence-based patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the hospital setting.

Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license with appropriate national certification and eligibility to practice in Ohio.
• Experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or acute care.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and medical documentation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical clinical practice.
• Willingness to work on-site in Millersburg, OH, with flexibility for hospital schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Prior rural healthcare experience or demonstrated interest in serving rural communities is preferred.
