Hospital Services Technician (2nd Shift/Evenings)

About the role

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking Hospital Service Technicians in Jacksonville, FL. This position is essential for managing the shipment and delivery of blood and blood components.

Responsibilities

• Review shipping notices, orders and other records to determine priorities and shipping methods required to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers.
• Inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure and potent.
• Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or to other transportation agencies.
• Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair when necessary.
• Aid the Hospital Services Team Leader in resolving problems according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements.
• Able to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call hours.
• Able to organize and manage time effectively.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, proportion, percentages, etc.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 70 pounds, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
• Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and overhead lifting.
