Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Legal Support & Document Management
- Assist the General Counsel in drafting, reviewing, revising, and managing a wide range of legal documents.
- Conduct thorough legal research on state and federal statutes, case law, and healthcare regulations.
- Manage litigation matters, including coordinating with outside counsel, gathering and organizing documents for discovery, preparing subpoenas, and placing litigation holds on records.
- Maintain and manage all physical and electronic legal files, corporate records, and litigation documentation.
- Compliance & Regulatory
- Aid in the preparation and tracking of regulatory filings and periodic reports.
- Review and assist in the drafting or revision of internal hospital policies and procedures.
- Process and coordinate responses to subpoenas, public information requests, and medical record requests.
- Administrative & General Support
- Support corporate governance matters, including preparing and organizing materials for Board of Directors and committee meetings.
- Communicate with internal hospital departments and external parties.
- Proactively manage departmental projects and follow up on outstanding legal matters.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm setting.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or an Associate/Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Exceptional Attention to Detail, Strong verbal and written communication skills, High proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
