About the Role
VEA Health is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join a growing inpatient program at DeTar Hospital Navarro in Victoria, Texas. This is a high-volume hospitalist opportunity in a Level III Trauma Center with strong specialty support, APP collaboration, and established inpatient infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- ACLS required
- BLS required
Responsibilities
- Respond to Code Blue
- Provide obligatory onsite coverage during shift
Procedures are not required.
Position Highlights
- 189 hospital beds
- Level III Trauma designation
- Annual hospitalist encounters: 27,000, averaging 74 visits per day
- Average encounters per day: 18 per clinician
- Day coverage: 7a–7p staffed by 2 MDs and 2 APPs
- Night coverage: 7p–7a staffed by 1 MD or 1 APP
- Dedicated discharge navigator APP support, 40 hours per week from 8a–5p
- Open ICU with PCCM available for consults
- Teleneurology used in the ED for emergent neurological consults
- EMR: MedHost
- Patient satisfaction method: Press Ganey
