About the Role
College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the preparation, cooking, and service of food for patients, staff, and hospital guests. The Dietary Supervisor will be responsible for the overall operation, performance, and supervision of kitchen staff while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment. This individual will implement safety and sanitation standards, comply with all food service regulations established by the Maricopa County Department of Health, and uphold the ethics and moral standards of College Medical Center. The ideal candidate will align with the mission, vision, and values of CMC and demonstrate the ability to interact with, relate to, and support a diverse workforce.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of food service supervisor experience (preferably healthcare experience) in a high volume food service environment.
- Proficient in use and maintaining of kitchen and sanitation equipment.
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Ability to obtain (or already have) a Food Handlers Permit for AZ.
- Ability to obtain a ServeSafe Certification. Must have FH and ServeSafe within 30 days of hire date.
- Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays. Day or Night shift as required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (12 hour shifts), lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in high volume environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise preparation of cooks, nutrition staff, and dishwashers to serve all menu items according to standardized recipes and department service standards.
- Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and are following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in kitchen ordering, purchasing, and ensure all storage areas are maintained under leadership standards.
- Monitor food quality and presentation while following recipes and department standards.
- Help to ensure all kitchen equipment and supplies are kept in good working order.
- Maintain a safe working environment including following health department standards, use of regulatory procedures, all kitchen logs, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is used by all staff and maintained to proper department standards.
- Manage and maintain all kitchen and storage areas following local regulatory standards, department and company leadership standards, and required sanitation and safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills in management of all dietary staff.
- Complete all assigned tasks while on duty adhering to safety standards and policies of CMC.
- Complete initial educational training modules and any subsequent modules assigned by CMC on time, and complete additional training when assigned within the required timeframe.
- Attend any and all staff meetings, or additional educational modules assigned by leadership.

Pay
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CMC Phoenix roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
