Position Summary
Hospital cooks at Trinity Health Grand Rapids Hospital combine culinary skills with healthcare needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Meal Preparation: Preparing a variety of hot and cold food items, including entrees, soups, and sauces, using standardized recipes.
- Dietary Compliance: Working closely with dietitians to ensure meals meet specific patient dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Safety & Sanitation: Following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines, along with federal, state, and local health regulations.
- Kitchen Operations: Operating and cleaning various kitchen equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Customer Service: Serving food to patients and staff in an efficient and friendly manner and resolving customer concerns.

What Will You Do?
- Processes room service orders.
- Interacts with patients and family members by order taking via the phone and inputting menu selections into the computer.
- Gathers, washes, & puts away dry dishes.
- Promotes positive customer service relations between Nutrition Services and Nursing units, patients, families, and all other people they meet.
- Maintains knowledge of profession, safe food handling and sanitation.
What You Will Need
- 18 years of age.
- Prefer some guest service background and a HS diploma or GED.
- Previous Professional cooking experience is preferred.
