Hospital Chaplain Casual
Principle Responsibilities
Delivers or arranges spiritual care to patients and families; this includes assessing spiritual needs, responding to referrals, leading groups, providing care during end of-life and crisis situations, and effectively documenting each encounter in the electronic medical record.
Routinely provides weekend and overnight on-call coverage for end of life, critical incidents, grief and loss, critical care patients, religious and culturally responsive care needs, etc.— and to offer support to the healthcare team caring for these patients and families.
Supports an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care by working to ensure that the unique spiritual, religious, and cultural needs of patients, families, and employees are addressed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from nationally and locally accredited institution
- Completion of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education
- One year of experience as a spiritual care provider
PREFERRED Qualifications
- Master's degree in Divinity or equivalent
- Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Two years of experience as a spiritual care provider
- Licenses/Certifications: Board certification as a professional chaplain preferred
Physical Demands
- Sedentary: Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently
- Casual position with day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available
- M-F 4:30pm-8am. Sat-Sun 8am-8am
- Must be available for at least 3 on-call shifts/month
- Must be 45 minutes away from a call
Pay Range
Pay Range: $31.07 to $42.59 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
