Responsibilities

• Provide direct services such as companionship visits, caregiver relief, running errands, music therapy, reading, playing games, sharing hobbies, conversations, and offering a comforting presence.
• Assist with simple household tasks like light cleaning, tidying, mowing the lawn, walking the senior’s dog, and other errands to help maintain a safe, comfortable home environment.
• Offer indirect services including phone calls, pen‑pal correspondence, blanket crafting, assembling information packets, preparing cards for clients, organizing materials, and helping with special projects.
• Deliver essential supplies to seniors and bring cakes or small treats to celebrate patients’ birthdays, creating warm, personal moments.
• Provide administrative support by assisting with light office tasks and other behind‑the‑scenes duties.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation, valid liability auto insurance, and a current driver’s license are required.
• Must agree to and pass a criminal history check and drug screen.
• A tuberculosis (TB) test is required.
• No prior hospice experience is necessary; training will be provided.
• This is an unpaid volunteer position; no compensation will be provided.
