Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the Hospice Volunteer Program and volunteer activities.
• Collaborate and coordinate fundraising and support activities with VNA Fund.
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate the annual plan for volunteer resources.
• Recruit, interview, orient, train, assign, and evaluate volunteers.
• Supervise, instruct, and provide guidance to volunteers in the performance of their duties.
• Establish procedures related to volunteer activities and area of responsibility.
• Develop and implement programs/in-services for volunteer participation.
• Review/audit, compile, and maintain volunteer records, including training and service data for compliance with regulations.
• Schedule meetings with volunteers to provide support and ensure effectiveness of service; identify needs and gaps in service; act as volunteer liaison member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with community partners in recruitment, training, and assignment of volunteers into those settings.
• Facilitate communications with Agency staff, volunteers, and families.
• Educate the community about the Hospice and Volunteer Programs; represent the Volunteer Program at internal and external meetings.
• Collaborate with staff in writing grant proposals/requests for funds.
• Collaborate with the public affairs department regarding ongoing community relations programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• One year of experience in social work, human services, or a related field (preferred).
