Hospice Volunteer Coordinator FT

Overview

The Enhabit Home Health & Hospice is seeking a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join their team. This role is part of a culture of care and involves supporting families during difficult transitions.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, and coordinate hospice volunteers.
• Design and deliver volunteer programs and services to meet patient, family, and partner needs.
• Assign volunteers based on program needs and the volunteers’ interests and skills.
• Monitor and evaluate volunteers’ performance.
• Plan and conduct volunteer support meetings, volunteer appreciation gatherings, and volunteer retreats.
• Facilitate community awareness and support of Enhabit Hospice volunteer program.
• Aid Medical Social Work with community bereavement awareness as assigned.

Qualifications

• Hospice experience is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Strong typing skills, clerical skills, and competence with computers.
• Demonstrated experience in volunteer activity and a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient/family needs.
• Valid state driver license.
• Dependable transportation in good working condition.
• Safety and competency to drive in all weather conditions.
