Hospice Volunteer
Role Overview
Bloom Healthcare is seeking compassionate, caring, and committed volunteers to join our Bloom Hospice Volunteer Program. Volunteers play a crucial role in enriching the lives of our patients by offering emotional support, specialized therapies, and support to patients' families and friends.
Responsibilities
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients
- Aid in providing specialized therapies such as music therapy, pet therapy, and other alternative therapies
- Collaborate with the hospice care team to meet patient needs
- Participate in Bereavement Program activities like outreach, support groups, and administrative work
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and patient privacy policies
Qualifications
- No prior healthcare experience required; training will be provided
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to a regular volunteer schedule for this unpaid position
- Pass a background check and comply with Bloom Healthcare policies and procedures
