Hospice Volunteer

About the role

BAYADA at Inspira Hospice is seeking volunteers to join our team in Millville, NJ. This office serves clients throughout Cumberland County. As a volunteer, you will make a difference in people’s lives by providing compassionate care and support to clients, families, and caregivers during terminal illness and end-of-life care. Volunteers are a valued member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).

Responsibilities

• Assist with home management tasks
• Provide companionship and friendship to clients
• Offer caregiver relief
• Serve in specialty areas such as Reiki, massage, pet therapy, craft volunteering, or as an end-of-life doula
• Share special talents like music or art
• Assist as a transport escort when needed
• Help with clerical work and other office tasks
• Participate in memorial service planning
• Provide bereavement support to loved ones

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
• Meet all state requirements for volunteers, where applicable
• Meet BAYADA requirements and state regulations for the discipline if providing professional services
