About the role

At Heartstrings Pet Hospice we provide gentle hospice and in‑home euthanasia care to pets in the comfort of their homes, allowing families to say goodbye surrounded by love. We are seeking a compassionate veterinarian who wants to practice medicine that matters, without the clock‑watching and pressure of a traditional clinic. You will sit on living‑room floors, answer difficult questions with kindness, and help families honor their pets’ stories with dignity and peace. While you practice independently on the road, you will never be alone—our team invests in your training, growth, and well‑being from day one. You’ll serve the Richmond, Pearland, and Sugarland areas of Texas and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide gentle hospice and in‑home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
• Sit with families, answer hard questions with kindness, and facilitate dignified goodbyes.
• Manage a light appointment load (a few visits per day) to allow time for listening, explaining, and honoring each pet’s story without double‑booking or rushing.
• Practice independently while receiving support via mentorship and colleague availability.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
• Flexibility to choose 4 weekend days per month that fit your life (no fixed rotation)
• Completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review prior to start date
