About the role

At Heartstrings Pet Hospice, we provide gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to families in the comfort of their homes, allowing pets to spend their final moments on a favorite blanket surrounded by loved ones. As a Compassionate Veterinarian, you will practice medicine that matters without the pace and pressure of a traditional clinic, spending time listening, explaining, and honoring each pet’s story while helping families say goodbye with dignity and peace.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services for pets.
• Sit with families on living room floors, answer hard questions with kindness.
• Help families say goodbye with dignity and peace.
• Practice independently on the road while receiving team support and mentorship.
• Participate in thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and ongoing training.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
• Completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review prior to start date

Pay

• 5‑Day Full‑Time: $135,000 guaranteed base salary, plus generous quarterly bonus opportunities
• 4‑Day Full‑Time: Starting at $110,000 base salary, plus generous quarterly bonus opportunities
• 2‑ & 3‑Day Full‑Time & Self‑Managed Part‑Time options: prorated compensation based on schedule (self‑managed scheduling available)

Schedule

• Choose from a 2‑ to 5‑day‑per‑week schedule or a self‑managed schedule
• Weekends on your terms: select the 4 weekend days per month that fit your life
