Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor (San Marcos)

Responsibilities

• Perform spiritual assessments of patients and families/caregivers
• Provide bereavement counseling, consultation, and education
• Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary group

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree)
• Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver
• Comfort in an interfaith setting
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care
• Hospice experience preferred
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with CA requirements and is in good working order

Schedule

• Part-time, per-visit service
• 8-hour shift, 23 days per week
• On-call availability
• Weekends as needed
