About the Role
A Hospice Aide provides compassionate care to terminally ill patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, toileting, hygiene, and bedding changes.
- Turn, reposition, and transfer patients between wheelchairs, seats, and beds.
- Help serve and assist patients with meals.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient areas and manage supply inventory.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
- Observe patients and report any health concerns or condition changes to the RN.
Requirements
- Completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide course, testing, and registration.
- Preferred minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Empathy, responsibility, and dependability.
- Effective communication skills with team members, patients, and families.
- Ability to follow instructions and accept supervision.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
- Proficiency in using personal protective equipment and universal precautions.
