Hospice Massage Therapist

What You'll Do

• Provide compassionate presence and utilize active listening skills to create an environment of healing for patients and their families/caregivers
• Perform health history on clients and update prior to each session; ascertain precautions/contradictions for massage prior to each session
• Explain procedures and apply techniques appropriate to client needs and preferences
• Manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body
• Observe client reaction to massage and solicit feedback then modify and respond accordingly
• Document client’s condition and progress in electronic medical record
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all patient information as confidential and utilizes protected health information on a minimum necessary basis

What You'll Need

• Graduate of an Accredited Massage Therapy Program with completion of at least 600 classroom hours
• Licensed Massage Therapist or Bodywork Therapist (LMT/LBT) in the state of Wisconsin upon start
• Will complete an independent consultant agreement with our legal services department, must carry your own liability insurance
• Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid State Driver’s License, automobile in good working order, automobile insurance in accordance with state and organizational requirements, and an acceptable driving record required
• 2 years' experience performing massage therapy as a licensed or certified massage therapist
• Prior hospice experience preferred
