Job Summary

Queen City Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality hospice care during night shifts. This role is responsible for delivering patient-centered care that promotes comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients and their families. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, independent, and passionate about end-of-life care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Implement nursing care based on comprehensive assessments and individualized care plans
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and plan of care
  • Coordinate hospice services with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Communicate patient condition changes and care needs effectively
  • Deliver pain and symptom management interventions
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and medications

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program
  • Active LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • CPR certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospice, home health, community health, or medical-surgical nursing
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end-of-life care principles
