Hospice LPN

About the role

Preferred Hospice, a well-established hospice company with 5 offices across Missouri serving over 65 counties, is seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team in Farmington, MO.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient, family and caregiver in coping with issues related to death and dying
• Perform head-to-toe assessment and vital sign check on all assigned patients for the day
• Occasionally provide personal care, bathing, dressing, etc. to the patient
• Communicate effectively with all hospice staff and provide all support as needed
• Provide nursing care, symptom management, and emotional support to the patient, family, and caregivers
• Provide education to the patient, family, and caregivers
• Documentation per electronic medical record
• Mileage computation per phone app

Qualifications

• Currently licensed in the State of Missouri as an LPN
• Live within a commutable distance to the office
• Reliable transportation and car insurance required

Skills

• Ability to provide hands-on care to patients facing a terminal illness
• Compassion and ability to love and care for patients in end-of-life situations

Experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. We can teach you hospice regulations, medications, and charting. We are looking for nurses who know how to love and provide hands-on care to patients facing a terminal illness.
