About the role

The Hospice Float Registered Nurse (Float RN) provides comprehensive nursing care across multiple roles within the agency, ensuring continuity and quality of care for hospice patients. This flexible position supports various functions, including Hospice Direct Patient Care, Intake, Triage, Admission, and Case Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to hospice patients in their homes, facilities, and community locations.
• Support intake, triage, admission, and case management functions as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Participate in community outreach and education activities to promote agency programs.
• Maintain compliance with agency policies, procedures, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Complete required training, continuing education, and professional development.
• Adhere to the agency’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions.

Requirements

• Current and unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive within the service area.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including cannabis testing.
• Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of hospice, palliative, or home health experience.

Pay

Hiring range: $37.67/hour – $57.22/hour.

$3,000 sign-on bonus for new hires upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.

Shift premiums:

• $2.50/hour for weeknights.
• $2.25/hour for weekend days.
• $4.75/hour for weekend nights.
• $4.00/hour for on-call standby.

Pay ranges are established based on education, certifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.

Schedule

Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
