Hospice CNA - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks such as changing bedding and clothing, bathing hospice patients, and supporting hygienic routines (e.g., brushing teeth, washing hair).
• Maintain cleanliness and dryness of wound dressings.
• Instruct family members on basic health-care routines for terminally ill relatives.
• Consult regularly with supervising registered nurses to apprise them of patient progression and family needs.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the following:
  • Minimum of one year full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility).
  • One year of experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home health or hospice setting.
• Must be registered and listed in good standing on the nurse aide registry in the state of employment.
• Must have basic demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.

• Arkansas: May be a nursing student who has demonstrated competency in providing basic nursing skills with submitted documentation from the director or dean of the school of nursing, in lieu of being a CNA.

• Connecticut: Must hold a certificate as a certified nursing assistant.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law.
• Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition.
• Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions.
• Must complete training and competency evaluation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Must possess CPR certification.
